PUTTING THE PEOPLE FIRST

PUTTING THE PEOPLE FIRST

Dear Esteem PKKMB Constituents.

It is my desire to be a part of the building process of a progressive, politically relevant and economically viable Plateau Central Senatorial District and by extension, a Greater and United Plateau State and Nigeria.

The desire to contribute in the building process of the success story of Plateau State and Nigeria at large through the office of the Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Representing Plateau Central is born out of the vision I have for leadership and development. I have a vision of a well represented Central Plateau State at the National Assembly. I believe strongly in the untapped potential of the human resources found in Plateau state and especially in the Central Plateau. With my leadership exposure and experience, it has become my daily thoughts and deliberations to be part of the building process of a better Nigerian society for all.

I have since engaged myself and my team in a consultation process with different stakeholders cutting across the Traditional Council, Cultural Associations, the Business Community, Young People's and Students Associations and Women Groups with the sole aim of sharing our vision as well as working along with the stakeholders in developing a work plan.

This consultations are ongoing and at the appropriate time, we will engage the people with the details of our programs. My team and I are continuing the engagement in different ways and we are taking note of the counsels, advice and the different concerns of our people of #PKKMB, who form central part of our planning for #CredibleRepresentation2023.

It is our desire as a team to be able to lead holistically - carrying every one along. Therefore, we welcome wise counsel, advice and recommendations from the people here on social media and beyond; in order to shape our plans for meaningful representation.

We are open to all suggestions from everyone who happens to come across our page on facebook and other platforms.

It is our desire that our plans for EDUCATION will take care of both the young and old desiring some form of education, both formal and non-formal education.

We desire to bring about an INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP, where gender gaps are bridged, HUMAN RIGHTS are made priority and all groups are served.

We desire to contribute to the INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT of the zone as well as to attract NATIONAL INVESTMENTS to Plateau Central - especially as our zone holds vast tourism, mining and agricultural potentials, the harnessing of which will add to the national economy.

Our plans promises to be holistic and simple. This is so because we are aimed at addressing the cogent needs of our people. As a grassroot leader, and with my experience as a State House of Assembly member, I have an appreciation for the people and their needs. To that effect OUR PLANS is informed.

We have plans put in place, which will address ECONOMIC challenges of the zone, giving access to new opportunities for employment and empowerment for our teaming young people, for skilled labour and young graduates alike, as well as to support Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Entrepreneurs in the zone.

Our team of researchers have been on ground conducting grassroot research in form of need assessments, so that they can recommend appropriate measures that can bring about DEVELOPMENT to the zone.

We are not leaving any stone unturned unroll our effort to achieve the aim of giving the people a VOICE at the National Assembly as well as taking part in the development process that will change the status quo and bring progress in the zone.

Our team understands the urgency of and the relevance for partnership, therefore, we have developed a strategy that will promote a synergy kind of leadership, where partnerships across zones and tiers of government in the public sector, as well as partnership with the private sector  stakeholders and Civil Society organisations and international actors will be promoted and leveraged upon.

I invite all our constituents, in Mangu and Bokkos, Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam at home and in diaspora to key into the vision for inclusiveness, credible representation, socioeconomic and political development of the Plateau Central Senatorial District.

Yours Truly,

Hon. Diket Plang,

For Senate, Plateau Central Senatorial District, Plateau State. 2023. (Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam, Mangu and Bokkos).
